Hey, It’s Shyah ;-)

All of the posts and thoughts here are mine. Occasionally, I may welcome other voices, but I really wanted to utilize this space for you to get to know me. I share candidly about other healing modalities. OHM = other healing modalities, by the way, hope you caught that.

I am a midwife for the soul and an author; I am trained in many modalities, and I have lived many lives. I am both a cat and a cat lady.

I went to Howard University, where I studied Public Relations and Sociology. I extended my studies to the University of Pennsylvania for an advanced certificate in Social Impact Strategy. I spent over a decade working at the intersection of celebrity, storytelling, and philanthropy. I’ve had some pretty cool jobs. I spent the former years of my career in the entertainment industry- Def Jam Records, Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons, and I worked under music mogul Kevin Liles at his full-service artist management company, KWL Enterprises. During my time at KWL, I became deeply interested in social impact and creating a lane developing the philanthropic arm of the company.

I moved from New York to Atlanta after accepting a role as National Director of Entertainment, Celebrity, and Alumni Engagement at Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I worked with remarkable talent and conceived beautiful programming that supports America’s youth. I also worked at Habitat for Humanity, an international non-profit organization committed to housing equity. I also spent time in the tech industry managing Talent Partnerships at Calm, the meditation app. I thought Calm was a beautiful amalgamation and evolution of my journey and who I had become.

While building a poetic resume, I was also growing spiritually. I attended my first birth as a doula in 2016, and it really took me over. I trained as a full-spectrum doula and am certified by Mama Glow. I completed Reiki Levels I, II, and III. I am a certified childbirth educator, a quantum ancestral healer, and an initiated priestess in the Yoruba traditions of Ifa, Obatala, and Egbe . During my Ifa initiation, I received the name Ifalomo, and many people call me Falomo. I call myself Falomo sometimes, too. I like to think of Falomo as my higher self, sort of how Beyoncé had her alter ego, Sasha Fierce, except Falomo does not deal too much with the ego.

I have left no stone unturned in my journey, and often I feel like I’m just getting started. Having been up the mountain many times, I’ve learned that there is no mountaintop.

I am an author, and you can learn a great deal about my spiritual journey by reading my book, The Lineage of Love. It details my journey through religion, illness, awakening, and ancestral veneration.

Welcome, Ohm came to me in August 2022. I went to a yoga class shortly after learning that my position at Calm would soon be eliminated due to a restructuring. I was resting on my mat in savasana when I heard the assignment clearly: “I go to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so you can also be where I am.” It turns out that my next assignment was to prepare a place that I would come to call Welcome Ohm, a space to grow, develop, and explore the fullness of this existence here on Earth. I pray it holds you the way Spirit has intended, the way Spirit held me through the fire, all the way to the sunshine.

I’ll go into detail on different healing modalities and share additional offerings as they come to life. For now, our core offerings are Threshold private and group passages.

Much more to come. I’ll see you around

All my love,
Falomo
